Default Drums: Watch in Ultra-Slow Motion Video

I bet you never realized that your drumheads and cymbals behaved like this. It's amazing to see the physics of a drumkit in slow-mo!

Yeah, it's really cool when you see this motion in action. The mega high speed cameras can capture some WEIRD stuff.

Just so everyone knows, the stuff we are talking about kicks in at about 3:30.

I got a nice lessonn on this on a BBC Horizons episode about time. Here's some of it.

Where is it Brandon? I'm not seeing anything (not sure if it's my work's firewall is blocking it out of view?)

Drat!! I knew it! All I see is a huge blank space with no video window within or anything. Guess I just have to wait until I get home. Thanks for the confirmation Bigduggieface.

What browser are you using at work? Did the original video work for you?

Interesting.

Internet Explorer 6 (a little dated). No, I wasn't able to see Bigduggieface's video clip either. At the time, I didn't realize that he upped a video, as he didn't really mention upping one in his message except through context...which I missed.

I checked both vids at home though. That's actually pretty fascinating stuff. I couldn't believe that the drums did all that. I wished it showed that kind of footage on a tom. Those things have all kinds of recoil I imagine.

Thanks for sharing.
