I Have a large piece of plywood that I placed my drums over, with some wooden blocks drilled into the front to make sure the kits not going anywhere. Easy and efficient to use.

I use a $12 carpet I got at Walmart. I'd prefer plywood, but need to be able to adapt to different drummers too often. I always wanted to bolt down wood into the plywood, but I figured I'd ran into sliding issues too often. Then again, if it's only the kick drum sliding, I guess this would be a good universal solution.
