Default Cleaning Drums

Im havinf problems with keeping my drums as well as y cymbals clean...
I keep them in a small room with open windows...
Everytime i come back they have a coat of dirt on them and all of the hardware gets rusty...
The same happens with my cymbals...
I just bought Zildjian ZXT´s and already they are getting rusty...
I guess i should close the windows...but what else can i do??

Cover them. Use a feather duster. Wipe them down often.

Sounds like there's a lot of moisture, which probably contributes to the rust and dirt as well. I guess the best thing to do would be to close the window, but it seems like you're slightly reluctant to do so, so maybe get a de-humidifier or some kind of tarp even to go over drums..just spitballin here.

At my local super market they sell stuff for cleaning brass, chrome, copper etc... Follow the instructions on the thing and it works wonderful. To clean the drum set itself windex on a soft towel not directly on the drum finish should help keep the drums clean. When applying the cream or w/e it comes in protect the Zildjian wording or it will come off with the chemical. As always use in a well ventilated area.

Lemon juice works well for cleaning light tarnish and fingerprints off cymbals. Clean your drums with Trick drum cleaner and a Micro Fiber towel. Never use Windex with amonia to clean drums.
