Default You've gotta question a microphone when...

Well, I was on Musicians friend looking at the "holiday sale" and I looked at the MXL 990. Sure, its probably the biggest noob mic, but when I used it, I thought It was pretty good. But had I not used it, this picture that is supposed to give me a product description would make me question how good the microphone was. Sure everyone loves a good model, but I don't think you should need a model to push the sale of recording equipment.

I don't think there's anything wrong with seeing models parade around with our kind of stuff... that one's a dog though.

Don't act like you wouldn't have sex with her.

I recognize her from something, it was definitely on tv. Probably a pharmaceutical or shampoo commercial.

Pretty much. I don't want to sound mean, but she looks like she's been around the block several hundred times, if you know what I mean.

She looks like a groupie who has aged just a bit too much and doesn't realize she's being beaten out by the younger, fresher chicks.

I'm only commenting on the pic though, and I'm sure she's a nice person. It's just not a flattering photo at all, and emphasizes her age.

I do have a beef with recording companies using chicks in their ads. The camera work, lighting, and makeup is always done in a way that looks more like something I would do with a digital camera in my living room.

I know chicks who have done upper level modeling type of gigs. I've banged all of them. (Okay, that last statement was a lie). It's just as easy for these same chicks to look like they've been around the block a few hundred times, too ( as DT_Chris so eloquently stated).

So, I find putting chicks in microphone ads completely degrading and offensive if they are not going to take the time to make the chicks look as hot as they do in other media.

-----

As far as the microphone, I've not used. My MXL V69 is the best mic for the money when it works. I don't recommend it because too often because it's broken just as much as it's functional.
