What is the font?

Not sure what forum to post this in, so I'll try here first. Does anyone know what font is used on classical music, not the symbols but the actual letters used to write such things as addagio, allegro etc.? I've been trying to find out for months, it's driving me nuts!

hmmm

doubt there is any official standard
publishers probably have a house standard
but each may be different

and probably has changed since bachs quill pen
and gutenburgs first score
through handset type days
to electronic machines
and now current computers

you could try finale or sibelius help line and see what they use

i would just use the font my notation program defaults to

I would search for music notation/score fonts. It's been awhile for me, but you can make you own font set.
