Default Van Halen Live In Concert

What a show!

I saw them last night, and my ears are still ringing. They did pretty much all of their hits, no real surprises, but man, I was just surprised to see that they were all alive. Diamond Dave was full of energy, and his voice was almost spot-on most of the night. Eddie, for his part, still has his signature velocity after all those years in rehab, and jumped around the stage sweaty and shirtless for most of the show (despite being over 50 years old). Alex Van Halen is looking quite Keith Richards-esque, but his drum solo in the middle of the show was one of the only times I've seen people actually listen to a drum solo. And Wolfgang, Eddie's son, although he looked kind of unsure of himself at points, was pretty good at holding the bass down, and even sang backup on most of the songs.

One of the bests hows I've been to...

Anyone else seen them on this tour?

My favorite radio station was giving away tickets for this show (actually 2) in chicago. I couldn't go, but I heard that wolfgang did a pretty impressive bass solo. the funny part is that there are a bunch of old guys then there is wolfgang (whose what, like 17??). Anyways, people were speaking highly of the show.

They started at $50.

He's gone (he's playing with Sammy Hagar now, I think they had arguments with Eddie...then again, who doesn't?)...Wolfgang Van Halen is doing quite well in his stead.
