Default Using the Internet to Share Huge Files

Occasionally I need to send and receive very large files and folders to and from clients over the internet.

By large, I'm talking 100MB-4GB. Much too big to email. Files like high-resolution multitrack sessions, video files, and high res album mixes for mastering.

Up until now, I've been using DropSend.com. It works good, and it lets you upload up to 1GB sized files. Occasionally, it would be convenient if it would allow for larger file sizes.

Does anyone know of a good method of transferring large amounts of audio/video files and folders across the internet inexpensively and easily?

I actually have found that I can send files up to 2GB with Dropsend.

You can also try send6.com-they support files up to 4GB.

Use a compression application that allows you to split the archive into chunks (e.g. if you have 4GB of files zip/split them into 4 separate 1GB files). You can do this with WinRar and other compression apps.

Yes, splitting the folder into chunks is what I've been doing up until now. It's an extra step that I'd prefer to avoid. It can also be potentially confusing to a technologically challenged recipient of the 4 chunks.

File compression is absolutely essential, however.

I'll check out send6.com. I've never heard of it before.

Thanks, gentlemen.

You could host your own web server and just send a link with your IP address
