'Pink Floyd', of course. Do bands who only stayed together long enough to tour one album count? If so then 'Little Village'. Wow two threads in almost as many days, where I get to mention them. ![]() A little known band from Wales named 'Budgie' were doing what 'Rush' did way before 'Rush' were doing it. So 'Budgie' get my vote for that band that made people go, (What the w a r m was that??) There is still some footage of the original 'Budgie' to be found on youtube and some one was uploading album tracks with there own collages if any one is interested. I believe 'Metallica' covered there song 'Breadfan' Just to save any one trawling through lots of stuff about real budgies doing all sorts of wierd stuff on youtube, here's a starting point. YouTube - Budgie who do you want for your love YouTube - BUDGIE - BREADFAN Last edited by bradzoot; 02-26-2009 at 08:17 PM. Reason: added info |

Led Zeppelin (First album) Black Sabbath (First album) Pink Floyd (Umma Gumma) The Who (Live at Leeds or Who's Next) Yes (The Yes Album) Cream (Wheels of Fire or Disraeli Gears) ...these are a few of the bands that set the stage for everything that came afterwards. Sounds old now but when these came out, they were like nothing the world had ever heard before. Many of the other bands mentioned certainly owe a debt to these bands.
