Team America may be the greatest movie ever. Whoever wrote the theme song found the proper mix of "Eye of the Tiger", "Danger Zone", and the theme to "Full House". Every song on this movie is a classic. I can't help but think of that syrupy Alan Jackson song and crindge when I hear "What Would You Do?". The hero's reaction of violently puking when he hears the song in a sleazy dive after the philosophical Dick/Pussy/Asshole speech is timeless. I could quote this movie for days but my favorite is probably Woodsworth saying "I am not from Hollywood. I am not going to fuck your mouth, and my time is very valuable". Team America ranks right up there with "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" as essential comedy in my book. I pray a sequel is in the works. Lump

I find that most people overlook the songwriting in this films soundtrack. In fact, the score is pretty damn killer too (obviously taking a page out of the Jerry Bruckheimer book). The song that really gets me is the tune played during the "love" scene. That's one catchy ass song. I think people totally underplay the songwriting abilities of Trey Parker. I also agree that this film as a whole is a masterpiece. Even thought the film is shrouded in a thick layer of perfectly executed stupidity, there are a few great points and lessons to be learned about this flick. Most importantly, it's just funny. I think Trey Parker could make it as a songwriter after his movie/cartoon days are long gone. Its obvious he has great talent, he's done the music to all of the movies he's done I believe. I really like the song he did on BASEketball where basically everything he's hearing in the song on the radio is happening as he's driving down the road. Can't remember the name, but freaking great. The movie does have a good theme to it if you can see past the obvious stupidity. I guess its just a matter of people wanting to realize what they're saying or people just wanting to watch a great funny movie. |

I just spent a week in the NH woods fixing trails, and all we did the entire time besides that was quote Team America. And sing the AIDS song. It was damn fun. -Tyler
