Default Rage Against The Machine Reunites, If Temporarily

Rage Against The Machine played a few shows at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

It seams that the multi-platinum (and once major label signed) band continues it's anti-corporate message. (How does being a major label AND being anti-corporationey work again?)

I've never been huge on the band, I but know that there many who were. Even if I don't agree with them politically or love their music, at least there was some kind of substance there....whatever that means.

RATM where my first real 'rock' band that I got into. I use to love them when I was 14 - 17 most probably because they swore which was amusing when young.

I really enjoyed their music even though I didn't really have a clue what Zack was going on about at first. Then I started reading the lyrics and the meaning and it what he wrote was quite poetic;
Like autumn leaves his sense fell from him
An empty glass of himself shattered somewhere within
His thoughts like a hundred moths
Trapped in a lampshade
Somewhere within
Their wings banging and burning
On through endless night
Forever awake he lies shaking and starving
Praying for someone to turn off the light

but then I lost intrest after listening to the song for 3 years (although I do have the odd song on my MP3 player.

I don't think Rage getting together will do them any good they should leave their respect and status intact and let RATM be what it is and not try and reform into Modern music.

I'm with you on that one. I'd say they were fairly innovative at one point (which explains the legions of diehard fans). However, I'm going to assume the magic is gone. Now the genre is tired and stale. I'd be suprised if they could be innovative and popular twice in a single lifetime.
