Portable Computer Jam Rig?

I need help deciding what to do. First let me explain my situation. My cousins bought a house on the river and I will be out there pretty much every weekend. We will probably be jamming a lot of that time. So what I would like to do, is play my electric guitar and usb keyboard through my macbook. So I need a way to get my guitar into my computer and then to some sort of portable speaker. I have an interface but it needs power and I don't want to haul it around. I also have a guitar to usb cable but it is crap. As for the speaker, I am very interested in building something myself but don't have to. It doesn't have to be good. I want something small and portable. I just don't know what the best route would be. If anyone has any suggestions as to set ups or speakers, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Computer speakers ? But normally, maybe something like a keyboard/bass amp, or portable PA. Many boom boxes have inputs and I used one to amp my midi device off in the corner. I even have a portable shortwave with both mono line and mic inputs.
