| Handsome Lloyd's Webpage Additionally, they are in the running for Lollapalooza, a huge music festival in Chicago at the end of the summer. Right now they are ninth, but they need about a thousand more votes to hit the top. So if you have time, please vote for them here. So comment if you wish, and please vote daily if you can find the time. |

they sounded pretty tight on the mp3's i checked out. how long have they been playing together? do you know them personally? i didnt hear too much that i didnt like, but, they didnt knock me over. maybe it was just the song selection (i think i listened to 4 of their songs) but i didnt hear alot of variety. they were solid in what they had on there though. hope it helps. keep me posted and i will try to remember to vote for them. |

They're alright. My favorite track is Zoo Child. I can imagine this song sounding pretty good and rocking the house live in some of the clubs I've been in. I wish the vocalist would 'step up to the plate' a bit on these recordings, because when he starts singing, it's almost like he's reciting the song, not performing it. I suspect this has something to do perhaps with the recording environment. I'm sure he'd sound much more energetic live Lots of potential though. They'd fit up here on the airwaves in Canada right next to The Tragically Hip, Headstones, and Our Lady Peace. They're not an entirely original sound, but I'm sure Canadians would buy their album. Their mix on each songs seems to favor heavy panning of instruments to far extremes. Guitar is always on the far left, second guitar on far right, vocals slightly off to the right side, drums somewhere in distance. I actually like the band's sound and mix, just not the strange panning. My overall vote: Would sound better live, but energy is lost somewhere in the recording process. When the vocalist should be using his gut, he's coming across as not giving it all. Zoo Child is a little more what he should be doing.

I do know these guys personally. I am not sure how long they have been together, but its at least 3 or 4 years. Thanks for checking them out, and thanks for any votes you can get in. Chris: Your assumptions are correct. The band's live shows are incredible. The energy is amazing! The singer did seem like he was being controlled a little. I think the album was withheld a little bit. Their songs were recorded a couple ticks slower and there was a building of energy in the songs as opposed to a total nuclear explosion of energy released throughout the length of songs. I understand the building of energy, but I have to agree and say he didn't get up to full energy. I wasn't completely happy with the mix (drums too quiet and hard panned guitars), but its now giving them a chance to get their music out there.
