Default The New Myspace Player

I see that Myspace has a new goal of including the entire discography of every band in existance. I was just wondering what everyone felt of this.

While I'm no audiofile, I'd rather listen to an AM radio than listen to Myspace's HORRENDOUS mp3 compression. So i don't use Myspace for fun listening anyway.

However, I can't help but think it diminishes (yet again) the apparent value of music a bit.

What do you think?

Brandon

Myspace is useless. People don't want to go to your page, they want you to go to theirs.

When my friends haven't logged on for months, and they're not even active, it was time to remove it.

There it goes...

I've just noticed that with the arrival of the new player, one of the songs on my band's profile doesn't play any more. Fuckin useless bastards! Did they get microsoft to develop it for them or something?

If I see one more "NEW SONG UP" from an average-band-at-best on the bulletin board, I'm gonna puke!

MySpace is drowning in crappy "NEW SONG UP" songs, especially the vocals.

Sheesh!

Cailyn will become famous soon enough

It's pretty hard to rate the new player given that it hasn't done much but malfunction so far. Seems typical of myspace in that they just do stuff and then clean up the mess afterwards.

The audio is poor compared to what many us are willing to listen to and yet I've discovered many great artists I would likely have never found without those crappy players.

As for myspace being useless, that's only true if you don't know how to use it. It is one of many tools but you have to work it to see results.

As for the new songs posted, that's what myspace is for. Who decides what's crappy anyway? They're all people creating art. Don't like it, don't listen.

I made a page in my space, and i was very disapointed by the quality of the audio.

It reminds me of youtube, which is slightly worse and mono (although you can add a string to play the stereo stream).

Myspace in particular is shocking, because you would expect decent audio quality from a space dedicated to music.

It's not dedicated to music. It's dedicated to girls who like to change their background from pink bunnies to light green bunnies and the guys attempting to fornicate with them.

Actually you both are right. The Band MySpace is supposed to be for bands to highlight their music. It's tough to do that when the music player soesn't faithfully reproduce the music that the artist uploads.
