Smile dropping lead guitar

Hi, brand new to this!!, is it possible to take a track and "drop" the lead guitar? my son is trying to locate a copy of Arctic Monkeys "Cornerstone" without the lead for his music GCSE, as per usual he has given me all of 48 hours to try and solve this, despite knowing about it for over a month, musical ability? yes, common sense? absolutely none!!! cheers Jamie

Find the recording studio and see if they'll give or sell you the raw tracks?

ya there's no way to remove the lead guitar from the track on a CD, unless perhaps if the part under the lead is repeated in the song somewhere else with no other new instruments on it, and you can replace the section with the lead with a copy (not very likely)... not familiar with that song..

A good musician will be able to re record the song for you with any of the parts you do or dont want in the song.
