Hi,
I am a musician and I with my band have recently recorded a demo and we want to get a professional package together to send to the usual potential clients. . We plan to publish around 1000 CDs with the relevant details (Band Name, Song Titles and Contact Details) printed on the CD. But we are very much confused that what we should have to use CD duplication or CD replication. If anyone of you have any ideal about this and its provider then please help me. All suggestions and tips are welcome |

Hi,
You should always try to use replication service unless you don't have enough time or if your quantity is small. In such case you can use duplication. The artwork for duplication service is usually printed on a paper label and then the label is stuck onto the disc surface. This is labor intensive task and that's why duplication service, despite the lower quality, is more expensive then replication service in terms of unit prices. I know a service provider called cd replication cheap dvd replication UK dvd manufacturer dvd, which provides both CD duplication or DVD duplication and CD replication or DVD replication. Hope you will be satisfied by my suggestion |

Yeah, I agree. CD Duplication is okay when doing 100 or so copies, but when you get up to 1000, you should definitely go with replication.
My clients have had great luck with Healeydisc, Discmakers, Oasis, and just about every other major company I can think of. Brandon

Always try to to replication if you can. The difference is like using your inkjet printer to print few copies or hiring a printing company to print your brochure. If you need packaging such as jewel cases, try to find a replication company that's near from you as the shipping cost can be very high and they cases tend to break during the long transit.
This article, Pros and cons CD duplication vs CD replication (also for DVD duplication vs DVD replication) should be helpful to you. Jessica |
