Default What Kind Of Saxophone Is This?

Hello there, all you Fellow Music Members.
Here's a song that I'm sure you'll love. Have you ever heard of Stanley Clarke? If you haven't, he's a jazz bass player, and he's really cool. When you listen to this song, I bet you could try to guess where he's from. Well anyway, this is the song that I listened to when I was introduced to the music of Stanley Clarke for the first time. This song has a really cool beat to it, and the bassline is sort of a funky groove. The shocking thing you'll find is, Stanley Clarke actually sings on this one! Listen to this, and tell me what you think of it. Also, in this song, there's a saxophone which I'm trying to figure out what kind it is. I can't seem to tell whether it's a Tenor Sax, an Alto Sax, or a Soprano Sax. Is there a difference in tone between the three saxophones? Also, which one is the Alto Sax closer in tone to? The Tenor Sax, or the Soprano Sax?

Got a song name? I have no idea what song you're referring to.

Saxophone tones do differ. Alto and tenor are most alike (to my ears), though some alto players seem to have a really smooth tone, and sound more like soprano players. There is a difference in normal range, though altissimo might confuse this somewhat. That said, altissimo range sounds a little different to normal range. Baritone sounds pretty different to the others (though the lesser used bass sax sounds similar to baritone). There are lots of other lesser used saxes too.

The song I'm referring to is "The Streets Of Philadelphia" by Stanley Clarke. I posted it in an attachment.

I'd say that's a soprano sax, but could possibly be an alto.
