I think the bass is one of those instruments that is easy to learn and hard to master. I mean, the concept is easy in terms of the notes played, but it is hard to play them right. Anyone can be a "bass player", but not many can be actually good at it. -Tyler

I'm not kidding a bit. The ability to perfectly hit every down beat is very very rare. It takes amazing timing and most people simply don't have it. Yeah, don't let the four strings (Or more. There are such things as extended range basses, ya know.) fool you it is tougher than it seems. I have a metronome, but until about a week ago, I had not even turned it on! I had better get practicing. 1000 hours you say? That takes way too much discipline. |
