so i watched a band play recently, and they called themselves 'futuristic christian rock' and they were using a full sized keyboard, a 61-key keyboard, and a vocoder and they also had a pedalboard on the ground as hard as it is to decipher exactly what effects they were using at different points in time, i was wondering if someone could inform me on the possible pedals a keyboard player would use im a guitarist so i know alot about pedals, but i also know that most effects are stored on the keyboard, other than maybe a sustain and a volume pedal anyone can offer some advice? |

On organ, the pedals are bass - it's a keyboard for the feet. I have a old video of a Golden Earing concert where the bass player has something like a Hammond pedal board he uses for bass accent - "Twilight Zone". The drummer uses MIDI for a stage solo in the concert, so maybe they rigged the pedals for MIDI - who knows ? The pedals I'm talking about are a large contraption with huge wooden keys. That is old school and I am sure there are probably more modern designs. You can search Hammond Pedal Board and get any number of pics from dealers.

ohhh i know what you mean the midi sounds like a very likely idea but i dont think he had a bass board at this particular show is it common to run a keyboard through stompboxes and if so, which? im waiting on a reply from the band as to specifics, so hopefully i can share that when i find out thanks for the replies =D |

I do know that keyboarders use effects to wake-up their patches, but I have no personal experience. I suspect they are common ones used for guitar. I'd love hearing what effects are used live - do they do input or amp switching - the whole chain is interesting.
