TAlderson, Not sure if it's good for the guitar? Spoken like a guitarist. I'd be more worried about the cymbal! You going for the one-man-band thing? That's a lost art for sure! Last summer I caught a guy off Beal Street playing a contraption. If you closed your eyes you would've sworn that was a five piece band! Great show, almost as good as the Cheap Trick concert I just attended. Lump

Yeah, I tied a drumstick to the head of my guitar, so now, it's like hitting the cymbal with a drumstick. Slightly better for both instruments. -Tyler

Always had a Washburn piano in the house, and then a Kimball organ when my grandma moved in with us. But the first instrument that was mine, all mine, was a kid-sized Sears acoustic 6-string I got for Christmas when I was 7 or 8. It was a year or two before I started lessons. After that, the dea was that if I learned "Deuling Banjos," I'd get an electric. For my 9th birthday, I earned a Peavey T-15 WITH the practice amp built into the hard case. That would have been 1983. That was just in time, too, as the neck on the acoustic POS cracked and would never stay in tune. I still have it, but it's unstrung in a box in my basement. I still have the T-15, too. I'm too sentimental to ever get rid of an instrument. |

My very first instrument was an acoustic guitar when I was 9 years old. In fact, four of my siblings also got instruments in the hopes that our family would all be musically inclined, as my dad was; however, I was the only one to succeed. I've been playing guitar and singing ever since. I think I'm singing more and playing less, since my husband is an expert guitarist though.
