Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on synths, specifically the Korg EA-1. I am thinking of buying one, but am very unfamiliar with what I can do with it in a live performance setting for rock music. I would use it with my keyboard to add some interesting ambience to our music if it would work for that type of thing. Does anyone know???

Yeah, I've played with these before. I've got a buddy who's very much into the electronica stuff. I was raised on Human League, so I can relate on some levels.
You you have a few options with these. I'm not sure if this is the exact model or not, but his had drum, bass, and all sorts of other crap. You could push a button and start your drums. Each button corresponds to a various beats in the measure so you can quickly design a beat you are looking for. You could also sample stuff and loop it with the one I played with. What sort of music are you planning on adding this too? In a lot of ways, I thought using one of these was like playing an instrument. Brandon

I was just toying with the idea of using it as some background effects. My band is a modern/melodic rock with heavy piano involved. Just thought that I might be able to use it in conjunction with my keyboard to either add effects to my different sounds or put in sequenced background stuff, for example like the band Muse does.

Man, I wish I could tell you more. I'm not sure how I would go about using one in a rock setting. I'm sure it could be done but it would probably take a "dj" type person to run it.
