Oh fug!

I bought a spiffy, white, snap-brim cap just a week ago. I'm gonna hide it under my plaid pants though so no one will think I'm old.

Not sure what they will think, but as long as I don't go to jail, I don't care.

Thanks for the heads up, mang.

Christ, I hope not or I'm hosed! I'm gonna be 52 and I just started a year ago.

Actually, I have a great day job. Well, not really "great", it pays well so money is not a problem. I spend 3-4 hours in my studio each night. Hell, it beats watching TV.

I'm stretching my mind and that's a good thing. I'm enjoying the hell out of myself. I can tell because 4 hours can seem like 20 minutes. I'm learning and (I hope) getting better at hearing the tune in my head, transferring it to instruments and working on it with the farkin' incredibly powerful technology that gives you unbelievable control and flexibility over your work. And… you can get it nowadays for practically NOTHING.

I'm old enough to not take myself too seriously and to be able to hit the delete key and start over when what's been laid down is not the best I can do at that point.

I guess I started when I needed to.

*hides the snap-brim cap behind back*

Well... You're too old to "make it" when EVERY noise is "brown noise"...

You're too old to "make it" when you forget what you're doing in the middle of a song, and have no idea why all those people are staring at you.

You're too old to "make it" when you've got more life support equipment on stage than music equipment.

If your GRANDCHILDREN are in nursing homes, you might be too old to "make it".

You're too old to "make it" if you've shrunk to the point that you can't reach the cymbals and the bass drum pedal at the same time.

You're too old to "make it" if you ask that question and have no idea what people are talking about when they answer you.

You're too old to "make it" if you can remember when Lincoln got shot...
because you were there.

Lmfao, there is an ad for The Fedora Store right at the bottom of the page. Wonder if they sell the snap-brims?

Er, well, it was there a minute ago. Bastids moved it on me.

DAMMIT! Another one of my great ideas stolen before I could do it!

FYI, my dad has a friend who is 78 who is still a gigging drummer. His only complaint is that it is getting a bit difficult to haul around his kit.

78!!!! Every drummer I've played with complains about the same thing (lack of a girlfriend was often another one) so if that is his only complaint then good on him, that is an achievement.

For example take 'Seasick steve'. He was what you might call 'discovered' and he's ancient. Not too old to do it tho'.
Rock on, whatever age you are.
But that's the blues

With the blues, you don't have any cred unless you've paid your dues
