I forget to be honest. The computer may have suggested it.

I chose mine after I first picked up a 7-string guitar. I tried to pick a excite.com e-mail address (anyone remember excite?) but most variations of 7 and string were taken so I finally landed on this one. The past couple years I've been pushed more and more to re-name. When I'm downdown at clubs promoting to bands over the loud music it ends up like this: String7th dot biz!!! "Thing Seven got what?!?!?" No! Striiiiing, seventh, STRING!! "String Seven?!!!" With a T, H dot biz!!! "We don;t need health insurance, man!!!" Buisiness cards help but my buisiness name has been mispronounced and mis-spelled on cd's and radio so many times. Recent bands I've asked to just list my personal name as "recorded by" |

I like weaponry and I like Sci-Fi such as Star Trek. One of my favorite weps is the Vulcan Cannons used on various military aircraft. I also happen to like Spock. Combine the two, use some creative spelling, and you get .... Count Spockula and The Dirty Bombs of Doom could have been what I chose, but I'm not in a punkabilly band.

I guess you could say that my handle spawned from my first band back in high school. We were something like a metalcore band or some such (...shudders...). This band asked me to join their ranks after I had been playing guitar for about a year or so at that point in time. We all knew each other from multi-band shows and gigs...they played, and I attended. I believe the object of this band was to be as pretentious as possible (like all the other bands typically were in the local "scene"), looking back. Anyway, we had that one song that was just METAL all the way through. I'm talking grindy, deathy, black, VIOLENT metal, you know? I think the song title was called "Cliffside On The Edge Of Forever." We were always pumped when it came time to play that song...and preceding the intro to the song in rehearsal, we always smiled like a bunch of school-girls getting ready to meet The Backstreet Boys, awaiting one of us to smuggly declare, "Metal Time!!." Disappointing, I know. Like many here, the spelling with the "y" was a result of an already taken 1st choice. It was my first email address at hotmail. I chose the "y" because my last name is Yarborough and thought it could be read as an "i." Genius, huh? Nah...j/k. I hope my story was boring enough for you guys.
