Hey BigAl, I was wondering just the other day why I haven't seen any post from ya. Glad you had a good vacation. Hope the recording deal goes well. Welcome back.
HA HA, just kidding about the missing me part. I have been mostly gone from this site other than the occasional visiting and reading up on some of the new posts for about the last month. I was in Florida on vacation last week and now I'm all recharged!
Before I left for vacation, I actually moved my recording setup from the garage to the "spare" bedroom and got it all set up. I might actually jump in and do the July mixing contest.
I do actually have my first "real" recording project lined up.I offered to record a friend of mine just so I could get the experience and he accepted. Now we're in rehearsals on his songs and he's dumb enough to want me to be his drummer. lol. I hope to be able to post various mixes for your review & suggestions.
OK, I'm done babbling.

Hey Big Al... thought you'd been unusually quiet
Moving from the garage to the spare room sounds kinda serious!!![]()
Well, there's two reasons for the move. (1) It has been unbearably hot in the garage. The band is practicing in our living room right now. (2) My garage has nothing more than siding for walls and we recently refinanced the house so I could use the equity in my home to properly treat the garage for noisy activities. Unfortunately, the bastard that appraised my house really under cut the property value and effectively killed the equity in my house. He said it was because there were three foreclosures in my area recently. The last appraisal of my property (approx 10 years ago) was $14,000 higher than the appraisal I got 2 months ago. It felt like I'd been ass-raped. That actually hurt worse than seeing my retirement account take a hit during the financial crisis. Sigh.
Another week of non-stop madness at that place that gives me a pay check. Another week of not much getting to hang out here. On the positive side, I did have a rehearsal Tuesday night with the guy that's gonna let me record his upcoming album. We have the foundation for one song and I hope to start pre-production tomorrow afternoon or maybe Monday night. All depends on how things go tonight with my cover band. We have a gig an hour away from here so I might not get home until the sun comes up. Good times!!!
