I wrote on here how a friend of mine got smashed up on his Motorcycle. He passed on Monday. He would have been on this site right now if not for this tragidy. even if you didn't know him, I will tell you he was an awesome musician and engineer. We both lost another friend of ours a few months ago who was also a damn good musician. It would be ok to say something like I wish I could have heard some of his songs. If you could say something in robbies respect you can go here....

![]() Robert Merrill Squires, 45, of 1510 3rd West Hill Drive, died Monday at a local hospital of injuries received in a May 31 motorcycle accident. Visitation begins 10 a.m. today at Croxford Funeral Home. His funeral is 10 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel, with burial in Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum. A reception will follow at the Elk's Club. Survivors include his mother, Adrienne Squires Moran of Great Falls; his stepfather, Merrill Moran of Great Falls; aunts Fayetta Donnelly of Vaughn and Punky Squires of Great Falls; a special companion, Mert Antonich of Great Falls; numerous cousins and many beloved friends. Rob was born Dec. 8, 1962, in Helena, learned to read at age 3 and graduated from Simms High School in 1980. He was a well known, multi-talented, self-taught musician who played in local bands. He played almost any instrument he picked up, playing all the background instruments himself. His obsession was studying the universe, where we came from, astronomy, physics and the stars. He built his own flight simulator and was taking helicopter lessons. He was an avionics and electrical engineer, graduating from Helena Vo-Tech avionics school in June 1990 and ITT Tech Electrical Engineering Institute in Nashville in September 2002. He worked in Nashville for American Eagle Airlines and the Nashville Police Department repairing and maintaining their radio equipment. He married Edi Jo Roberts on Dec. 30, 1991. They divorced in 2005, and Rob moved back to Montana, where he worked for Fed Ex in Missoula. During the fire season, he worked on smokejumper aircraft, as well as on law enforcement radio systems in Missoula. Moving to Great Falls in 2007, he was employed by Avmax. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Merrill and Tess Squires; an uncle, Larry Squires; an aunt, Aucille Winterrowd; cousins Richard Donnelly and Mike Winterrowd; and a half sister, Sharon Bretz. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rob's name are suggested to the Cascade County Humane Society. Condolences may be posted online at Guest Book - Robert Merrill Squires RIP Robbie

Man, this stuff is always tough. Hang in there.
I really wish I was better at times like this. If I can't be a sarcastic prick, I'm kinda lost, but with that said, my condolences. Brandon

It's always a shame when we lose the good ones. This world needs more aviation / electrical engineering / audio engineering dudes and a whole lot less people....well you fill in the blank. It's clear that this dude will be missed. Brandon

yeah - my condolences too. I'll be 57 this year and time is getting short for me too. "Every man's death diminishes me..."
