    Default "Rating" Explained

Here's a new thing that could be cool for the forum. If it sucks, I'll take it off.

    HOW IT WORKS
It was originally called "karma", but that's a little too hippy-like for my forum. I went with the much more exciting "rating". Okay, it isn't exciting.Anyway, here's the deal. When someone posts something you think is useful, click on "thanks" under their username or avatar. If someone writes something that don't think is useful click "go to hell". It's a pretty simple deal.

    GUIDELINES
Don't feel obligated to give them a rating either way. If they went above and beyond the call of duty (that's right..DUTY!!!) than give them a "thanks". If the post was normal, do nothing. It's not worth your time.

Please do not give someone negative karma simply because you disagree with them. You can always actually cuss them on the forum for that. But when people start posting idiotic crap (which hasn't happened yet) by all means, bash the hell out of them.

Good idea, I have seen other people posting crap and it gets very annoying. Is the "rating" system already in place, becasue I didn't see it anywhere (I might be blind)

Yes, look right under your username. One of these days, I'll look into making it more obvious. The same goes for "marks'.

mate you've got it wrong, Krama is the Bhuddist and Hindu belief that everything you do has a reaction. if i help an old lady across the street then i'll have green lights all the way home or (even better) my behringer (POC) interface will work. Or, if i spit my gum onto the street i'll be doomed to using Behringer Interfaces for the rest of my life (maybe not that bad a punishment but you get my drift) . but yeah just thought i'd put it out there, this is the irrelevant part of the forum.

So, anyone want to explain the new rating system? I don't understand "overall activity" etc.

My overall activity jumped from 40% to 80% while I was looking at compressors on amazon. Hmm...

The like button replaced the thanks button due to security issues and the fact that young n00bs have no idea what "thanks" means, but, thanks to facebook, they know what "like" means.

There was a REP button, I was adding to members reps, that's gone; which is fine as I have never understood the need for such add ons...
How could a THANKS button have been a security issue ?? Just wondering.....

i'm glad it's now one system - before i didn't know whether to thank the person, add to their rep, or like what they said, or would all 3 be too much ? its a much easier choice now lol
