The One Thing You Hate The Most
I love getting the negative juices flowing.
Name the one thing you hate the most. (Everything is not an acceptable answer). It can be a personal thing, a group of people (though probably not the best thing to flaunt on a forum), object, occurrences etc.
I'll begin:
I really hate when people say they are going to do something and don't follow through. If you don't intend on fulfilling your word, don't mention it!$10 Axe-Fx reamps. World class guitar tones are only a couple clicks away.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
My own laziness/lack of will power. I'm constantly shooting myself in the foot by choosing to dick around, in one way or another, rather than do something productive. Next thing I know, I've spent 5 straight hours playing Skyrim and my brain is scolding itself with "you could have written half of a goddamn song in the 4 hours after it stopped being a reasonable amount of play time".
Then again, that did happen right after spending a couple hours experimenting with drum tuning and then a few more trying to design some things to hold blankets for baffles and then running errands for my folks. and it was late at night so I couldn't have done any music stuff anyway. Maybe I'm not that lazy. Maybe I just secretly wish I was dependent on workohol. I'd get so much done. But as it is now, if I spend too much time doing stuff that isn't considered to be purely recreational, I start to feel like I've become a slave to the man and I just want to waste time out of spite.
Ok I know what I really hate. Psychological bullshit. I want to figure out what it is I really want, whether it's to be a productive individual or spend my life wasting as much time as I can get away with, and just freaking do what it takes to achieve that goal. No more of this involuntary "have my cake and eat it too" behavior. I need some goddamn discipline. maybe I should take up martial arts, or something.

I hate having to get up and go to work at my real job. The whole time I'm at work all I think about is how I could be at home being productive and learning more about this mixing gig. Maybe I'll win the lottery and my real job will be running a real studio

Evil people: people who are doing wrong, know they are doing wrong and insistent on how right and helpful they are. People like VP Dick Cheney, for instance. People who sell musical instrumental instructional videos, also. None of that shit, at like thirty bucks a pop, does anybody any good and they know it.

That's brilliant and so true. We just moved from a place with front and back gardens (which I hated mowing with a passion), to a place with no front garden and a patio out back. I'm now getting stressed about having to pull out a few weeds on the patio, that's how much I dislike gardening

Politics. It's a just a huge joke. Nothing like listening to people talk about information they got 4th hand and argue as though they know more than the next guy. My opinion on politics is that the stronger your opinion is, the more likely it is you have no idea how it works.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
So many things to choose from...
Probably have to go with ignorant people - folks who don't think for themselves and instead let the dogma spewed forth by Social/Religious/Political/Media Institutions create their opinions for them, but then claim said thoughts as their own. Sort of along the same lines as what Boz is saying but on a larger scale.
An example would be a person who watches the news but never questions what's being reported and why, repeats what they've heard as truth, and brands anyone who disagrees with their precious, third hand, "Status Quo" un-researched truth as a "radical" or a "conspiracy nut". The vast majority of mainstream reporting these days is either highly polarizing, biased opinion presented as fact, or straight up blatant lies. It's meant to divide, conquer, and pacify.
F*** the whole right vs. left, black vs. white, us vs. them paradigm - It's all bullshit and by getting sucked into any of it you just perpetuate all of the current problems we face as a global community. I've been guilty of it from time to time myself, who hasn't? But now that I'm aware of it I do my best to look into any major going's on in the world from as many angles as possible. It's typically the opposite of what's presented.
That said, I urge anyone reading this to pay attention to what's happening during the Olympics. Not the actual games, but the other stuff happening elsewhere in the world while everyone is busy watching the shiny athletes do their thing. It's almost always the time when the groundwork for some new war gets started. The amount of security forces at the games is suspicious too - almost like they know something is going to happen.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
This is probably best left for another thread, as this one is going pretty well, but do you think it's even possible to not be ignorant? Everybody makes decisions based on the info they are given. Ignorance isn't a choice, it's a fact, and to claim to not be ignorant, or to be even less ignorant than someone else is in fact extremely ignorant, isn't it?

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
well, I hate conflict between people. Not big wars and things (ok I don't really like that too
), but conflicts that are happening close to me, friends, peoples I love, etc...It seems impossible for my mind to stay out of them on a sentimental point of view, and it have the tendency to ruin my brain. I'm always overthinking it and it finally hurts myself way too much...Seems probably stupid for some of you, but I would love to be selfish and sometime just don't care.
Just doing it for fun!

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
I've got the best one yet. Listen to this garbage.
I attended a baby class with the ol' lady tonight. There were maybe 8 couples in there and a fun nurse teacher chick. At one point I was zoning out a bit. She said, "Don't toss or throw your baby." I laughed out loud. She says, "I'm serious guys. Don't toss or throw your baby." I laughed again thinking she was making a double joke. She scowled at me as if I was causing trouble.
Then I look down in our little guide book. In a bright red caption it says, "Don't toss or throw your baby".
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!!!!! THAAAAAAAAAAAAT IS THE HUMAN RACE? People have to print that???? It has to be taught in a class?????
So to answer the initial question, the thing I hate most is that this vile hump of apathetic inbreeds known as the human race hasn't nuked itself to oblivion yet. What are we waiting for? How is it we haven't died in nuclear war or by stabbing ourselves in the eyes with can openers? How come all of us have haven't smothered ourselves in saran wrap?
It's clear I need to hear Lewis Black scream "Do they think we are that FUCKING stupid!!!!!"
Don't throw a baby? Kiss my ass.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
I don't how many guys ignorantly toss around their offspring with dangerous consequences, but ... true story: On the news the other day a child died riding their new bike in front of traffic. The family lived 100 feet from a freeway on-ramp, which is - you guessed it - where the fatality occurred. They were interviewing one of the family members and they said "we hadn't taught her how to use the brakes yet". Okay, so let me get this straight ... you buy a little kid their first bike, you live 100 feet from a freeway on-ramp, and you send the kid off on the bike without teaching them to use the brakes first. Really???
When I taught my kids to ride bikes, I went down to the police station and got all the safety instructions I could get my hands on so my kids would take it seriously and not think Dad is just a safety geek (okay, maybe I am). I didn't want them to get killed by a stupid mistake. And that was just for riding on residential streets.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
Often it's people who have been rewarded for their negative behavior for so long - usually in the form of financial gain - that they don't even recognize the fact that they are doing wrong things. Positive reinforcement for negative actions. I think Cheney falls into that category; when was the last time he was punished for his wicked deeds? Most likely he has been rewarded with lavish gifts, friendly pats on the back and great stock options countless times throughout his career.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
well, wait a minute. Define baby here. In my experience, when warning labels say "don't let children play with this" they are pretty much referring to anything 18 and under. Is it ok to throw a 2 year old? According to this class, I doubt it. According to me? Absolutely. They love being thrown in the air.

Re: The One Thing You Hate The Most
Yeah, Brandon, I was hoping you'd laughed them off and told them, "Sorry, I've already got my baby-tossing schedule planned out. I gotta practice a lot if I want to get good at." Which you do, btw. They love being thrown in the air.

One thing? Selfishness.
It's the root of a LOT of bad & negative things from simple lack of consideration to wilful acts of violence or even war.Cubase 5, Tascam US-122 (mkII), Fenix Tele, Suzuki Nagoya, Alesis Q49, Sennheiser E815, Roland MA-12s, Sennheiser HD 215s ... and a ton of plug ins
