New Forum??

Brandon,

Can I possibly hope for a studio acoustics, or studio building forum around here anytime in the future or do you have no desire for a reason. I understand that as of now there probably aren't enough members for that forum to get a lot of traffic right now, but have you given it any thought?

Sure I've given it some thought. There is no reason that we can't discuss the issue now.

One of the secrets to running a forum is not to get too many categories too early. When one category is flooded with a given topiic, you then split off and make a new category..but not until then. That's the general philosophy I have.

I'd love to start an acoustics thread. I've got a few audio clips I could put together that could really illustrate the acoustics thing too.

Luckily, traffic has doubled in the last month. I'm getting much closer on the mega site redesign, which I'm very excited about. Google has just started letting me in for a few keywords, and I expect many many more to follow in the next 2 month. We can expect at least a triple in traffic when Google fully kicks in.

It would be great to see this forum thrive. I've been to many other forums before but none compare to the friendliness and helpfulness of this forum. Can't wait for the new site design.

Thats because it's small. That means I'm broke, but it also means that the guys who are hear really care about what they are doing. I'm pretty sure that money is one of my favorite things, but having a forum that you are liking is up there

Whenever that damn Google search engine finally picks me up (should have been a few months ago) I expect traffic to increase quite a bit and hopefully forum activity. The trick is going to be keeping the tone, friendliness, and helpfulness as high as possible.

I saw a forum for web design the other day. A kid asked a question and like 8 guys slammed him hard because he had a little typo. It was clear what his intention was, yet all of these badass web design guys attacked him anyway. Not one person on the front page even attempted to help him with his problem. My goal is to never let this sort of thing happen. I have no interest in having dickheads on my forum.

Anyway, I'm glad you are digging it. I'm dragging my ass on this mega site update, but that's because my bill paying work is running me into the ground.

As far as the acoustics forum, why don't you start some threads? Ask some questions and we'll see what happens. I'll try to post some articles on the subject too.

Well when the site does get big and flaming becomes a problem, you could get some guys to help you out with reporting them and such. Also a lot of forums have a rules before registering, maybe if we have that but make the friendly environment the most important (or at least up there) on the list, then it would help out a bit...?

I'll try to make posts too. I have no questions right now, but I'm happy to answer some for any who have them that I may be able to help out with (that might not be a lot).
