National Debt - It's Gonna Be A Long Month

I have to admit that after reading "Eisenhower" and "Why Nations Go To War" I wanted to puke at how this country's leaders have decided to ridicule anyone who was in favor of balancing the budget.

Well, I don't know much about economics or the effects of national debt on inflation, but I think it's going to be a long month.

I just order these books:

"Running On Empty: How The Democratic and Republican Parties Are Bankrupting Our Future and What Americans Can Do About It"

"Crossing the Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil"

"The Coming Economic Collapse: How You Can Thrive When Oil Costs $200 a Barrel"

"The Truth About the National Debt: Five Myths and One Reality"


Why do I get the feeling that none of these books have a happy ending?

i'll b needing full reports on a few of these

A part of me is excited by the knowledge in these books. Another part of me is scared to death of A) the information in them, and B) that this will be just another wedge between me and the "common man" who I've lost almost all touch with.

Super Tuesday didn't go so well for those of us who wanted a balanced budget. The worst part is unless some kind of Ron Paul miracle occurs, our only options are going to be people who want to continue the same amount of spending/imperialism/constitutional destruction or people who want to increase the amount of spending/imperialism/constitutional destruction.

It's like the old South Park episode. "You've got the right to choose between a douche bag and a turd". It's just different for me this year. I feel like their was a candidate who was actually on my side for once. If there is no Ron Paul miracle, I guess I'll have to listen to my old man and stock up on silver and read a few bucks on how to survive the depression.

“Our goal has always been to walk into the national GOP convention with as many delegates as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. “The number of delegates we won yesterday could very well be the difference in a Convention where no one has a first-ballot majority. With Dr. Paul’s home state of Texas coming up, we feel we can enter the convention with a substantial number of delegates.”

In an agreement first reported by West Virginia television station WSAZ, three Ron Paul delegates were secured through an agreement with the Mike Huckabee campaign at the West Virginia state convention early Tuesday. Ron Paul delegates to the state convention swung their sizable support to Huckabee – putting Huckabee over the top – in exchange for the delegates.

I really hope they can force a real conservative for VP, if not Ron Paul should run for Prez some other way! HEY, he will have my vote here in Texas!

The number of delegates we won yesterday could very well be the difference in a Convention where no one has a first-ballot majority.

Now that Romney is out, it rules out this idea.
