Yes, I got that implication. Many of us have also saw the South Park where they put on the music festival to "unite and change things". And what would step #2 through #10 be after we united?
I'm a little insulted by the video, actually. You can't really bitch [wimpy guy voice]Come on, guys! Let's do stuff. Let's make a difference![/wimpy guy voice] and then not actually present any actual solutions. This IS the problem. Everyone has an opinion, everyone is bitching, but 3% of the populous has any interest in even attempting to find the culprit.
The fluff-based message is following right in line with the voters that are bought with political campaigns. Underachievers with nice suits and nicer hair cuts still looking for that thing to impress daddy convince those with something to gain that they are a good face for their product. They take cash in, they return favors in Washington. Repeat. They often have little opinion or knowledge base to draw from. (JFK and Nixon are the most obvious off the top of my head. That's another thread.)
If the song mentioned a solution to politician leasing via WWE-like tactics, I'd be cool with it. (I just heard AT&T contributed $6,000,000 to each party. What does that tell you?)
If a song wanted to poke into what's really going on with the Federal Reserve I'd be cool with it.
If the song had any solution for dealing with the military industrial complex and it's absurd budget I'd be cool with it.
