I saw it this weekend and was very happy. I intentionally expected the worst just so I wouldn't be disappointed. I was not.
I didn't think it was different because all three Indiana Jones movies before it were so drastically different. This one had a unique feel to it, but they all do. The only real difference I saw was Indiana is older and he didn't fuck anybody in this one. Instead of going out and banging a bunch of whores, he decided to stick with the old chick. That's a fairly realistic thing although I would have hoped that Indiana was still out banging broads. Oh well. It's VERY difficult for me to relate to my childhood and I did not judge this movie like I normally judge movies. There are few sacred, innocent things left in my life. I want to make sure that Indiana Jones is one of them, DAMN IT! ![]()

I may need to watch this one again. When I went to go see it I was waste-cased, and it was a bit of a spontaneous decision to go to the theatre (it worked really well for Beowulf -- not so much for Indiana Jones). It seemed to me to be similar to the last two Pirates movies where there was a ton of plot points that were really rushed and kinda smashed together, and I got a little fatigued by the constant movement of the story. Did you guys feel that way or do I just need to watch this movie again with a fresh sense of awareness??

Temple of Doom was one cable recently. When I watched it, there were definitely elements that were a bit corny/kiddie for my tastes these days, but Temple of Doom is grandfathered in and therefor immune to scrutiny. I noticed a few of these corny/kiddie type of things in the new one. Maybe that's what I miss about my childhood. I didn't notice stupid shit when I was just a kid. Maybe I can learn to be stupid again. Brandon
