I'm Loving Google Docs

I just wanted to give a thumbs up to Google Docs. It's a prime time service and I'm using it like crazy right now.

I'm on a computer 18 hours a day. Actually, I'm on four of them. (Main office computer, recording computer, video computer, or my laptop when I can't stand the idea of sitting up any longer.) I've never made the time to get the networking perfect on all of them since I switched to Windows 7 on the three tower computers.

When it comes to notes, articles, ideas, etc I've freakin' loved just being able to access my stuff from anywhere without worrying about merging 19 versions together.

Another cool thing with Google Chrome is the synchronization of your browser. As long as you use Chrome on all of your computers once you sync with your google account all of your favorites and even your logins if you want automatically show up in the other Chrome. When yo uupdate a favorite on one it shows up on any other Chrome you are synced up with. I have it set up on 4 computers and it works like a charm! I wouldn't do it on a shared computer though.

edit: I know you weren't talking about google chrome but your post triggered that.

For 99% of the stuff I write down, google docs is good enough for me. When I have to write real reports and whatnot I end up having to use word, but luckily those time are rare enough, and google docs is finally getting better in their formatting options.

The only thing that bugs me is that I can't edit the spreadsheets offline. I understand why, but it's still a pain.

Same for me on Firefox, being able to sync your favourites is well and truly the dog's bollocks!

I use google docs for collaborations in school a lot. It's an excellent tool.
