Default Gun Banners Of America, Keeping Socialism Safe

George W. Bush on Gun Control

President of the United States, Former Republican Governor (TX)

Make America safer by prosecuting criminals with guns
Q: You said if Congress would vote to extend the ban on assault weapons, that you’d sign the legislation, but you did nothing to encourage Congress to extend it.

BUSH: I did think we ought to extend the assault weapons ban and was told the bill was never going to move. I believe law-abiding citizens ought to be able to own a gun. I believe in background checks. The best way to protect our citizens from guns is to prosecute those who commit crimes with guns. Also, I'm a crackhead but I'm not stoopid -I wouldn't come out against the 2nd amendment just b4 the election. duh.

KERRY: I am a hunter. I’m a gun owner. I’m also a former law enforcement officer. I ran one of the largest district attorney’s offices in America. I know something about prosecuting. Most of the law enforcement agencies wanted that assault weapons ban. They don’t want to go into a drug bust and be facing an AK-47. Because of the president’s decision today, law enforcement officers will walk into a place that will be more dangerous. Terrorists can now come to America, go to a gun show and, without a background check, buy an assault weapon. I also don't want to sabotage my campaign by telling you I'm for banning guns.

If gun laws are broken, hold people accountable
Q: Do you support the Brady Bill?

BUSH: Law-abiding citizens ought to be allowed to protect their families -with a steak knife. We ought to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. That’s why I’m for instant background checks at gun shows. I’m for trigger locks. I think we ought to raise the age at which juveniles can have a gun. I also believe that the best way to make sure that we keep our society safe is to hold people accountable for breaking the law. If we catch somebody illegally selling a gun, there needs to be a consequence. The federal government can help.

GORE: All my proposals are focused on that problem: gun safety. None of my proposals would have any effect on hunters or sportsmen or people who use rifles. They’re aimed at the real problem. Let’s have a three-day waiting period, A cooling off, so we can have a background check to make sure that criminals and people who really shouldn’t have guns don’t get them. Then after a few years, we'll ban all firearms... except the crossman 760... but that isn't really a firearm, is it..

Which is the conservative? What is he conserving? Who is conserving liberty and freedom? Why is the gov't in my gun locker?

americans can fluff this two-party BS with all the little details they like. When it comes to important issues such as american bill of rights there is a historic alliance within the two parties. This is one example. Kind of a big one, that 2nd amendment thing. You'll find highlights in red and my own words in blue, another example of the two-party alliance... oh, sorry -that was fluff, wasn't it... but it looks sooooo patriotic, doesn't it?

Ok.. you're free to go back to arguing that the "other party" screwed america more and it's "their fault"... or watch it live on cnn... altho, that one chic is really ugly...

consider making plans (now)of showing up to the capital on july 4th.... it's a patriotic thing..

(party alliance optional)

for example, right now $250 will get you from KC into DC on 7/4 morning and out that night. Or you could spend that money on something i'm sure will be important 2u...................... and your freedom..

..............just >Cheap Flights, Hotels, and Rental Cars -- Discount Airfare | Priceline.com< it....

And if you can't make DC then please consider making plans to hit your local capital. I think this is big that you and I do this. Now. Make a plan.

If we REALLY wanted to protect kids from harm AND we believed that government intervention was EVER a good solution to problems, we'd ban swimming pools. You can read all about in the book Freakonomics.

My only problem with this modern politics stuff is I feel like I'm outnumbered 94 to 6. That's about how it went down last election. I don't feel like I can really change anyone's minds.

I think the point is for them to express a popular opinion, but make it seem like one of principle.
But of course, people of principle generally don't go into politics... 'Cept Ron Paul!

Brandon- Don't concern yourself. In order for someone to change their mind, they'll have to use their mind.

I wish I entirely agreed.

When I saw the 2008 Presidental election I saw two sides who got into heated feuds over two candidates that had nearly identical views. I'll keep this brief (101 stuff) but the left supposedly wants to end the war and blow all the money on all the stuff Hitler did before he turned into a bad guy. (The New Deal...more or less...socialism). The right wants to take all the money and blow it up in some Arab dudes back yard so we can save a buck or two on gas. Where is the third voice that says "we don't need THAT many bombs or THAT many welfare programs"? Ron Paul was labeled a pyscho for pushing ideas that were clearly spelled out in plain fucking English in the Constitution. You can't miss it. A deaf and blind person could clearly point it out to you.

Regardless, the people, without thinking, clearly got all excited about their two candidates. Here in the Bible belt (where biggotry seems to flourish) the people who couldn't think had no problems get way too wound up for their cause.

It only takes one little fiasco and a 1933 could happen all over again.

Oh well. (At least I've learned to divorce myself emotionally from this.)
