Hey dudes / chicks, I'm a REALLY busy guy. I don't like wasting time on long, boring phone call and other misc distractions. I absolutely DETEST paper work and bureaucracy. I can't seem to figure out why it is advantageous to a society for all of us to waste an average of 50 hours per year (according to this blog Larry’s Log » Blog Archive » Ron Paul and the FairTax ) on filing our taxes. That means that each and every one of us would get an extra week of vacation if we simply didn't have to file the bullshit forms! That doesn't take into account the cash we'd save after we fired all those IRS assholes. Yes, they are assholes. My aunt works for them. She's smart. She could be doing society some good. Instead she's intentionally weighing down society so she can collect a paycheck. That's immoral. That is wrong! So anyway, this Fairtax thing looks pretty good. I can't decide what I think about their prebate thing (it feels a bit weird to me) but overall I like it. I also like the idea of accountability. I'd prefer than the tax not be necessarily built into the prices at the store. I like the fact that a $99 product needs $22 tacked on for government usage. This would immediately throw the idea in the face over consumer that our government is taking too much from us. Of course, that's not exactly true. For our current lifestyle, the government actually needs to tax double. (I saw somewhere that we have $1.8 trillion going into the government and $3.6 going out this year. Thank God for China! (sarcasm)) I think then a few people may take a look at our current lifestyle and begin to eliminate those things which provide ZERO benefits to 99% of us here on RecordingReview.com. (The luxury of war and world policing comes to mind). So, overall I'm liking this Fairtax thing. Americans For Fair Taxation: Americans for Fair Taxation Brandon |

I've heard that before, too. I wonder how inflation factors in with that. Brandon |

Regardless, the concept is noted. Our government has grown too big and spends too much money. Most people agree with that when stated this way and they go vote for Obama or McCain who both advocated greater spending and bigger government. That makes no sense to me. Brandon |

pay for what govt should legitimately do dont pay for all the other stuff they grabbed onto to grow the bureaucrats empires remember every dollar you send to dc 87% goes to politicians 13% comes back to do some good but only if they dont waste it on a boondoggle or screw up a good project with their incompetence net value of govt perhaps 1% of what you pay at most wht % bad stuff do they do to us? lots more than 1% we would be better off without govt the way they are going need to limit govt to national defense (no offense) police, and regulating biz so they dont poison us to make a bigger profit (think china and their fake protein that killed) fire etc should be done locally - volounteers work dont need more govt on our backs better to let churches and charities handle the social stuff then 80%+ of your money does some good let biz build roads etc why let the army corps of engineers waste billions and billions and screw up everything they touch too |
