Just a lil update
I have installed XP and i had forgotten how good a pure system feels. I've done most of the tweaks suggested on the internet on it now, including disabling internet etc becuase i have no use for it (except for occasional updates)
but yeah my point is XP is awesome, my process' are now between 20 and 30 and everything is super fast and my interface is thanking me by not spitting any pops in my face, also the latency is improved. I know we don't like hearsay on this site so this is just a bit of hard evidence that XP is the way to go

(and to stay on topic of process')
On start up before opening any programs:
Vista 58 - 60 process'
XP 22 -25

I've got vista on my other partition for internet and other shizzle and i've been inspired to reinstall it to make it fresh again

Cheers guys

This is partly why I think its a good idea to have a complete PC dedicated solely to recording. That way you wont have any unecessary processes running etc.

20 on my internet PC while I'm typing this. 18 on my music PC (before launching Cubase)

HAHAHA

I must be one sick puppy, I actually find this sort of crap interesting - a sure sign I need to get out more.
