I know we've discussed this before. But here's a video. http://www.walmartmovie.com/teaser_qhi.php Brandon |

the thing is we live in a maga world right now... wal mart clear channel AOL all these huge big stores and websites and companies! the little guy has every right to also be one of the big guys too... problem is that so many people do not seem to reach for anything more than what they can see or touch in their own two hands... it took a dream to make Wal Mart what is is, it took a goal to make it as big as it is... now if some off the smaller guys would do something more than whine about the big guys moving into their turf who knows what would happen and we might level a lot of our playing field. myself i see a time coming when we will revert back to smaller times again, this will in part be due to the next generation of superstars and home grown sales of food and media as well as fashion.... with little more than a few thousand bucks and some drive you can start a website create a product and market the whole thing yourself.... will Wal Mart be able to hold on in these times when people start doing things themselves? who knows at one time we had something just as big as Wal Mart way back about 100 years ago it was called Sears&Robuck they had the market cornered then too do they now? you tell me.... the people in this country just find it "more fun" to buy something than make it on their own.

as you say Brandon.... this is why Wal Mart is so huge... because the little guy is lazy... i think its more than Wal Mart... its also why we have huge super stars playing canned music rather than people sittin in living rooms playing piano and guitar or even singing.... shoot its so easy in this country to buy what ever you want as long as you clock in enough hours to get it happening for ya!

I agree with both of you. I think the time is coming when we get so sick of all this bullshit we take charge and go local; do things ourselves. But for now this generation is pretty lazy and somewhat clueless, and so is a lot of the rest of the country. A Greater Depression IS coming and it will be a good balancer, like you said guitar junkie. The dollar is falling fast. This house of cards won't last. (haha if I were to make a song...) Better get some silver and/or gold and whatever else you need to get by. :P |

I think the problem is people making low wages feel the need to live like people who make significantly more. That's why you see a shit load more big screen TVs. I remember 10-15 years ago. I knew like 3 people with a big TV. Now everyone has one. I remember my grandpa didn't get an air conditioner until 1993. I was 13 years old a the time. Now damn near every home in America has air conditioning (not mine, ironically). In fact, people of not so high income act as if air conditioning is somehow required. It's not. If you are broke, don't use. It's not the end of the world. Maybe I'm sheltered in my small town, middle class world, but I see enormous opportunity for success everywhere I look. ( I wish I had more time or clones of myself) I've never met a person who seriously needed food and couldn't get it. Again, maybe I'm lucky. Brandon |

Well you're right.? You can live for free if you wanted.? But I meant a "typical" middle class life is difficult to support if you're working for like $7/hour at one job.? Thirty years ago people were making that much money per hour and today the minimum wage is around that amount, while the dollar has fallen almost 50% in the past 5 years.? I'm seriously considering alternative ways of living, ones that I don't need to work in a box 8 hours a day (which I don't do now and I don't plan on).? When I figure it out I'll let ya know.? :P |

I couldn't care less what Walmart pays per hour. I'm not going to be working there. Anyone, who doesn't want to work at Walmart will feel the same. I bet 99% of the people that work at Walmart want to work at Walmart. There is no Nazi army forcing them to work there. Brandon |
