Amazing Battle of the Ears

In a upcoming contest I will be pinning Danny "supersonic hearing" Danzi an amazing newcomer here at RR against Our own beloved Recording review "Golden-Eared wonder"...Garageband.The two will use their auditory prowess to test Who is the definitive master of the hearing realm! Can they bring the "goods" on gameday...We'll find out, for there will be only one who triumphs!

What exactly are the guidelines for the contest. Sounds interesting.I wished theyd fistfight too.

I was thinking about making a track where several clicks, pops and slight clipping occured throughout, and they would have to write each nuisance detailing time of occurance, what type of artifact(click, pop,clipping)...extra points for including db. level of said nuisance and answer how to fix it. Also an Eq'n marathon where they get a sample 30 sec. long of snare sounds(roughly 10 hits, each with a tweaked eq.) after the the clip they must recall as many snare sounds as possible and detail the problem eq within each.Example: 1# snare had too much 250hz, 3db. drop at 440hz....2 snare had a high cut at around 4khz.... again extra points for how much (db. level)and resolution to the problem. ....a phase off. where they will have to select which track is out of phase ....hearing test, a 15 sec clip of nothing but the silence of my 14x10x9 room and using only my computer fans noise as reference tell me how to acoustically treat it.... plus many more, this is for all the RR glory.All tests will be on the honor system. Each contestant can only use the mighty power of their ears...no daws or fancy wizardry,


as far as the feats-of-strength, that is for them to decide how much bragging rights they want

just trying to create some excitement in this community.I hope I did not offend you(or Garageband) by picking you ,it is actually a compliment. Observing many threads throughout I have noticed the both of your abilities in picking out little quirks in a mix, and I just thought it would be funny to match you two together in "Battle of the ears"...that's all.Many people here pick out things ,that I am starting to hear, you two just stood out. Anyways... I am just jealous
