I am a firm believer in that it is oversimplifying to say this pickup for this style, that for that. Although some pickups do have a completely unique personality, I have done acceptable funk tracks on a Super Distortion and Death Metal on Seymore Pearly gates. Lace sensors are their own beast as well, and I can almost always pick out the EMG's, which I don't care for unless Zakk Wylde is using them.
That being said, I wouldn't strongly disagree with any of your assessments, just to add that you can use whatever you need if other conditions are right. Ted Nugent used to crank some serious rock on a big old hollowbody Gibson Birdland Jazz box.

i donīt think so, thats kind of relative, off course you can play with any pickup you want, any style but, you can added more color with this examples, i mean play funk with a Stratocaster instead of a bc rich with a trembucker distortion for my ear at list sounds better with the first option, iīm just recomended some choices for other people, buy off course you can always choose what any you want if you want to play jazz for example with a warrior jackson with a emg 88 pickups and sounds good for you, well my friend is your option cheers byebye

Tone is important but it's not worth getting too hung up about it as long you can get something of quality. Don't forget the difference between a single coil and humbucker etc etc is completely lost on the average non-guitar playing listener. Plus amp distortion and eq\compression in the recording process can alter the tone beyond what you started with on the guitar.

So is it correct to say that only if we agree with your list 100%, that is the only acceptable response? I think most were agreeing with the basics of your list but to say one size fits all is not correct. If that feels like arguing, then I guess it is.
