| Yeah, I was noticing it has those Grover Deco tuners they put on D'Angelico New Yorkers. That's pretty classy. I read the website link, Cippolino did the pickguard templates himself. Had an obssession with batwing profiles. He was kind of a vampirish looking character.

| I've had this one since the '80s and have a newer one with Kinski. Old one is ripe for a new soundtrack.

1. Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth 2. James Hetfield (early Metallica. The man has a right hand of doom.) 3. Stevie Ray Vaughan These aren't all of them, of course, but they're the top three. The list changes like, every other day, names get replaced...it's whatever mood I'm in at the time. Akerfeldt is my favorite, though. That man is a musical genius. Nedless to say, I'm nowhere near as good as any of them, but it's something to strive for. It's a bit odd, because the majority of the more complicated music I write is prog death. I was in a hovercar on this small planet. Just cruising along, enjoying a smoke, when out of nowhere this three-headed quillbug flew right into my left eye. I swerved in the process of trying to dislodge it ( Read: Screaming Vulcan profanities, clawing at my face, and dropping my smoke ) and during my brief period of inattention to my forward trajectory, this small purple prog happened to catch the full force of the front-side of my mode of transport. The impact didn't kill it. It merely made the creature angry. In fact, it made it angry enough to hurl some nasty Proggish insults at me. Their brand of slurs have an innate ability to rile even the most calm and rational beings into a frenzy. Seeing as I wasn't exactly at my most tranquil state of existence in that moment, I turned the hovercraft around once I removed the quillbug from my now-painful eye. An eye that turned a baleful glare upon this purple bunghole that dared to insult my mother's choice of pets. I can't go into specifics about the death of the creature, but after I had ripped one of it's seven limbs from it's body and started beating the color off of it's head with the arm/leg, I passed into a greenish-red haze. I think I remember yelling something like "I hope they can remove this from your carcass when you reach whatever realm you will be seeing next!". The thought of yelling such as that only leaves me with a vague feeling. A feeling that petroleum-based products might have lessened the severeness. Maybe. Once I regained control of my senses I surveyed the carnage. There and then, I decided that maybe a pair of cool aviator glasses would be advisable for any such outings in the future. I lit up a fresh smoke, climbed in the craft, cranked up my favorite Klingon heavy music , and rode the thin alien air out of there. That's my contribution to prog death...

Stone Gossard, for his unique and funky riffage ability. Kirk Hammet, for his ability to always play something that adds identity to a song, shredding solo or not. Eric Clapton, because he is God. Alan Johannes, Eleven was amazing and listen to his guitar work on Chris Cornell's "Euphoria Morning", his guitar work on there continues to blow my mind. There are many, many others. I love texture and character. I'm not a big fan of guitarist that can just shred. I love texture, character and feel, that's what gets me goin' when I'm listening to a guitar player. |
