I'm trying to found out more about these guitars. Like how long they were in production, how much they originally retailed for, where I can get replacement parts, etc. This is what I've been playing and learning on. My brother got it as a gift from his father-in-law and it's been sitting in a closet for several years. I just recently blew the dust off it, put new Elixir strings on it, and started learning. All the electronics work. No problems at all, not even snapping from the output jack, which is what I was expecting. From what I can assume, this is no top of the line, high grade instrument. But it's got a great clean, smooth sound that I wouldn't trade for anything. It's so easy to find the sound I'm looking for. It's got 2 single coil pickups, 1 at the neck, 1 at the middle and a humbucker at the bridge. 3 separte pick up switches and the volume pot is a push/pull switch, which I'm not exactly sure what it does, but it adds a little reverb when I pull it. The bridge is ginormous, currently missing the tremolo bar that came with it. The guitar is heavier than many of the basses I've played. I don't know what kind of wood it's made out of. 24 fret bolt on neck w/ locking nut.
If anyone knows more about these things, let me know. I'm interested. I don't know much about guitars in general, but I feel like I've got a pretty decent axe. And, hey it's a free guitar to play, so I can't complain.
