The Traynor 40 watt tube amp that I paid less than $500 for kicks some major butt. My cousin owns a little Hughes & Kettner solid state. It's scary in the right situations. I'd love to try out some of their big tube stuff, but it's pretty pricey. Might be worth it though.

I snagged this Crate Stealth 50 the other day for $200 at the pawn shop. It appearantly was a design by some big deal amp designer dude who has his own boutique thing happening nowadays. Anyhow, 4 x6V6, 3 x 12AX7, 1x 12" and multi high gain design. Put the parts mojo to it and that thing can ring your bell like that one British amp three times its size. |

He started reason amps with another guy a while back. He used to be a design engineer for crate amplification. I work for a company part time with another design engineer from Crate also. His name is Carlos Bedoya He designed the little v 30 tube amp. Were all St Louis dudes. Reason Amplifiers |
