I am looking at picking up a Line 6 Spider III HD75 75W Guitar Amp Head, but the thing is, I don't have money for a cabinet at the moment, or anytime soon. Is it possible to plug this head into my home theatre system?

before I made a couple of speaker cabs for myself I used an old Pyle car speaker on my VJ head - worked fine - just don't crank it up too loud or you'll blow the speaker. I just took an old guitar cable - cut the jack off 1 end - bared the wires - hooked em to the speaker - plugged the other end (jack) into my VJ head - turned it on and played

The things we can come up with when we have no money, but lots of ingenuity. I remember making a car sub woofer box out of a wooden trash can I made in wood shop. Looked like absolute hell and sounded even worse.
Car stereo speakers are designed for clear sound at low wattage and volume. They even have dual or tripple cones for band-pass filters for even more clarity. Guitar speakers are paper and are meant to distort and give a distict tone. But hey, as long as you're not messing with expensive equipment, ghetto rig anything you want and see how things work. |

Actually I read an Interview with Derek Trucks where he said he replaced his Fender Speakers with Pyle Auto Speakers - he loves em' - course he Mic's em too.

Dude Im not trying to hijack your thread, but i kind of am. But its for the good of mankind. With that kind of money you can get your self a decent combo amp that'll run circles around it.
