Default Marshall vs. Vox

I'm debating with myself whether to get a Marshall JVM410C or the Vox AC30. I tried both of them out and liked them both very much. The JVM410C is about $800 more than the AC30. I haven't really had a chance to dig deep into these two amps. I want to use them for recording and playing blues and rock. I have a strat and want to use the amp along with my new TS9. Which of the two would fit my situation better? Anyone owned these two amps? Any other amps you think I should look into?

If you have the mod chip in your TS9 808 or brown It really should be used with a marshall. If it isn't modded... I guess either amp would work about the same. If you are just using it to record, I would recommend the Line 6 GearBox. Get an amp later... Thats just my opinion.

Actually, I have the TS9 (not 808). Which Marshall model are you talking about?-MG series/JVM/DSL? Why is it that the TS9 (if it's mod) should be with Marshall and why not with other amps? Are there anything special about the two together?

I've never use Line 6 Gearbox before, how's it compared to Guitar Rig 2?

Right now the AD series, and I love it, guitar isn't my primary instrument so I don't have a huge budget for guitar amps, but the guitar player in my band loves it as well and I'm pretty sure that our band's next guitar amp is going to be a Vox AC30. I think it all depends on the kind of tone you want. I really love that classic rock guitar sound, and every Vox I've heard just seems to have the sound I want.

Is it the AD50VT or AD100VT? Are you using any pedals with that?

My opinion is the Gearbox blows them all away including GR2, GR3 and Revalver. It is the coolest piece of musical gear I've ever bought in my 30 years of playing. I use it on all my guitar tracks now.

Cool. Do they have a demo for download? Does it sound better in with the mix or better by itself? I've heard that some only sound good by itself while others sounds better if it's mix with the rest of the tracks.

from a 25 yr pro guitarist...forget both of them they are trash
For the vox sound get the ac 15 tube amp (small enough to turn up for some real tube distortion (remember, on stage they are going to mike your amp and put it in the mains ...so stage volume does not have to be that loud).
Another option- An old (blackface) fender deluxe
For marshall get an old pre 1973 handwired 50 watt head through a vintage 30 celestion (or old fender) two twelve cab.

THESE amps will "never let you down" and if you play guitar for a life time they will never need to be replaced...actually get both
also that nonsence about a moded ts 9 working better with a marshall..... blsht
