Hi! Does any of you own the Marshall 2550 Jubilee or played on one before? How does it compare to the JCM800 2204 or other Marshall amps? I spoke with Nik from Ceriatone and he said they are coming out with the 2550 clones. I want to know more about it, it might be of interest to me. Previously I was very interested in getting the 2204 because I think the tones are great but the single threw me off a little. What do you guys think about the 2550? Any pros/cons? I appreciate all inputs. ![]() Happy Halloween!!! |

![]() Hey Brandon, since your a Marshall fan what's your opinion on the JCM800? |

Which one? I forget all the damn model numbers. The 2203 is the one I really liked. It's a beast. I've played on some that were less fun, I guess. The JCM 800s don't have an extraordinary amount of gain and need a little bit of help if you have high gain aspirations, but they are great amps for the rock and metal world. They had quite a comback there in the mid 2000s with numerous modern rock bands using them again. I'd take a JCM 800 over a Recto any day of the week. Brandon |

A used to own a silver jubilee. Good amp for any kind of rock. Plenty of gain on tap, the lead (more distortion) channel gets a bit muddy, but it's great for leads. Doesn't take pedals well though. The jubilee has more distortion than the jcm 800's and two channels and an effects loop. Also, the distortion is produced differently since the jubilee has some kind of diode clipping circuit. If I was in the market for one of those today I'd probably get the 2203. It has less bells a whistles (good thing), it does the straight up "ac/dc" rock tone better than the jubilee and takes pedals better... and I like pedals. :P They're all good amps though. In the end it's just personl preference.

So would you say the Jubilee really hits the Slash tone or is there more going on with that sound? Brandon |

| Slash used 2555s. I had a Slash Signature 2555 which is the 100 watt version. It sorta does the Slash thing when it's cranked, but like everything else IIRC Slash had a rig built by Bradshaw during the "Appetite for Destruction" days.
