guitar newb

Hey all. I just got a guitar a little over a month ago and I think I'm doing pretty well. This forum looks to be for more experienced players but I hope I can find my place here.

The guitar I got was an acoustic Fender Squier. As little as I know about guitars, it's good enough for me to start with. Anyone have any tips they'd like to share with a newbie? I'm not looking for anything detailed, just whatever.

This forum is for everybody. Experience has little to do with it. In fact, the more experienced people on this forum post to help beginners. That's a good chunk of why I created this site..... and for the $7 million in sales I did last year... ???

What style of music do you play? What are your goals?

I don't really have a style yet, that I know of. I've been learning a few scales (blues, phrygian) some chords, strumming, fingerpicking, basic things. I just learned Is Anybody Out There? by Pink Floyd and I know a few Nintendo songs. :P

I'm glad I started with an acoustic. A friend said if you can play acoustic, you can play electric.

My goal is to learn music theory and eventually get really good at playing. I one day would like to be in a band.
