Default Guitar Forum Introduction

Hey Dudes,

I quickly realized that not everyone on the planet gives a shit how to use a parametric eq or even wants to begin understanding how multi-band dynamic equalization works. So guess what. For all you dumbasses who waste your time hitting metal strips stretchout over some wood, this forum is for you.

Have at it.

Hi, my first post; so will play it safe here in guitars. I do have a question for those that might be familiar with the subject: I recently purchased a Brian Moore electric. I have wanted one with both MIDI and a USB, not entirely sure why but sounds potentially cool. I was surprised to see that it had USB but no MIDI inputs. Haven't figured out if I can still do MIDI with this guitar or will be limited to guitar specific software via the USB port. No reply from company yet; can someone help with this?
thanks, Kevin

kevin-I didnt know they were making USB guitars already. figured it was coming, but didnt know they were on the market yet. I would imagine you plug the guitar straight into a comp. I would guess all you really need is a software synth in your comp in order to start making MIDI music with the guitar. set the software synth to receive MIDI messages through USB and yer rolling. i have a MIDI guitar with a 13 pin connector, which I have to plug into a roland guitar synth module, and then MIDI cable from there into my interface to get the MIDI guitar into my computer. I dont even use the synth module for actual sounds-its just a MIDI through device. I use the synths in my computer for my actual sounds.

let me know how it works out. my unit is 10 years old, and the tracking is pretty slow. forget trying to play a fast solo. if the newer MIDI/USB guitars have accurate tracking I may need to invest in one.

JDAUG this is the real Alaskan Husky telling you never ASSUME anything in computing.Your
imagination runs riot over your good sense, although you're on the right track.I don't have
a Synth like Rolands with the special PUP,my computer is exactly the same apart from thesoftware I detailed-Native Instruments& Guitar Rig.Yes the guitar plugs into a USB after going thru many processors I use anyway with other 8 Guitars.I fell over a Fender last night& remembered I have one,the piece of shit.I would prefer the custom hand
built model with the Roland pup I missed buying this year-beautiful!
