Lightbulb Guitar effects for Live and home studio

I have been looking into options for guitar effects that are giid enough for recording but can also be used in a live situation.

Any thoughts?

I think you're going to need to be a little more specific there. There are thousands of effects that fit that description. Are you looking for a delay? reverb? distortion? overdrive? phase shifting? wah? whammy? flange? What style do you play?

I'd be happy to give you some input if you narrowed it down a bit.

Maybe you can check out this digital multi-effects processors. They're built with lots of guitar effects like phasers, flangers, distortions and much3 more. With footswitches to change between effects, volume/wah pedal, I think they're good enough for liveplay. They also contain features for recording purposes. Check out their sites for detailed info.

1) Line6 POD X3 Live (Line 6 - POD X3 Live - Guitar Multi Effects Pedal)
2) Digitech GNX 4 (DigiTech® GNX4 Guitar Workstation®)
3) G9.2tt Guitar Console (Samson - Zoom - G9.2tt)

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the genx3 and it is fine for live but I find it noisy for recording. I also find the zoom's pretty noisy as well.
I have tried the older version of POD a long time ago and found it didn;t sound as good.

I was thinking of maybe the high end boss rack gtr effects processor with a midi controller or one of the high end tc electronics rack or some other brand.

I initially was considering something like guitar rig 2 or Stompio but seems that you have to have your computer/laptop hooked up even for live performance- didn't want that.
Many of the high end products are not avaailable to try out in the local stores and I hate to buy anything for guiatr that I haven't played with first.

I think for now I may stick to using all my stomp boxes for recording and for live I may have to try to closely match in the genx unless I find something better.

thanks for responding.

Liz
