Default Gibson Robot Guitar

I like the sound of this guitar [not literally its sound, haven't heard much!], and its looks...
but I haven't read any reviews on it yet!!

So basically I started this thread so I can see everyones outlook about this guitar?!

Is it worth its price, I saw one for about $1,300
Does it really sound good?
And basically anything else any one else knows about it, if you've owned or own one...

let me know!!!

I'd expect it to sound not that different from other similar Les Paul or SG guitars. The self-tuning thing seems a bit gimmicky, and me thinks more interesting for live performance, where it would definitely speed up switching tunings - but then, for the price, you could have two more spares ready to go, and no need for that ugly purple color, either. You know - with electronic tuners - it's not THAT difficult to change tunings - seems like a solution in search of a problem.

you've got a good point! maybe just basically suited for those not willing to take the time to tune it, perhaps they tune it to different settings alot?!
hmm and I actually saw the newer ones, they have sick green colored ones, and the original I thought was blue?!

anywho, everyone usually knows that Gibson produces really nice guitars, and partly the most expensive money can buy, so usually the more expensive means great quality, although I'm not sure it does here...have there been many bugg problems with the robot equipment???

Haven't heard of any problems. Thirteen bills is dirt cheap (Les Paul one, right?) and I'd snatch it up if it's not broken. Are you kidding? NOBODY wants to hear you tune. Nobody wants to hear you out of tune. Hit a button and be a winner on both accounts.

Now this is stupid. And people bitch about the Road Worn Strats? Huh? The Road Worn Strats look cool and fill a niche in the guitar playing community. Not to mention they were recently selling for $499 at Musicians Friend.

But a self-tuning guitar? Do you need someone to lift your dick out of your pants so you can piss too?

The reviews will be just as good as any other gibson guitar. It sounds good. Well, sure it sounds good, it IS a Gibson guitar. Truth be told, you're probably spending an extra $300 on the tuning feature (or gimmick as another accurate poster replied) alone. Do yourself a favor and get a used Gibson Studio or something of the like. You'll spend about $500 less, and be just as happy.

example: Gibson Les Paul Studio Classic White

example: Gibson - Les Paul Studio

example: Gibson Les Paul Studio $850/obo

example: Gibson Les Paul Studio Mahogony

I almost bought this guitar but I was noticing that their were always blemished ones for sale at zzounds.com which made me think, "why are people returning them" and "why so cheap", if you can call $1300 cheap. And then I asked "why did Les Paul have his name removed from the SG?" I love SG's! What's wrong with you Les you prude?!?!

And then I asked, "Donde esta bano?" and the old Mexican man pointed at a tree across the street.
