5150 vs. 6505

I have a 6505+, I heard it was the remake of the 5150. I've learned to love this amp and i think it sounds sick (had a hard time finding the right levels in the beginning), but has any one ever compared the two?

If any, what do you think is the difference between those two amps?

I read somewhere that the 6505 is pretty much exactly like the original 5150 and a 6505+ is pretty much exactly like the 5150 II, so there should be no significant difference between the amps.

Yep, Pete's right. 6505 is a remake of the 5150, and the 6505+ is a remake of the 5150 II.

The OP asked how his 6505+ differs from a 5150, so in that case, the 6505+ has two separate EQ for clean and dirty, an extra preamp tube and slightly different voicing. The 5150 has 1 less preamp tube, only 1 EQ and is said to have slightly more gain.

Doesn't really matter though, both have insane amounts of gain.
