yeah really, unless you super autotune it, it sounds pretty much the same (really good singing)
I have only listened to a select few tracks for this contest but I must say this girl can sing. I have had the chorus of this song in my head the last couple days because it is cool.
These tracks are well put together and there is no rescuing needed. I am guessing people are having a lot of fun playing with well produced tracks.
Brandon you Rock............or techno
Cheers and fun to all!
P.S I hope it is okay that I put this thread in this spot.

If you listen carefully you will hear audible laughing and other speech when its obvious she had a couple of boo boo's. The tracks are still pretty good quality.

And I wait." Toadies - Tyler

Next time there is a contest like this, it would be nice if the MIDI tracks were included. That might open up a whole other Universe of mixing creativity if we could replace or manipulate the original MIDI tracks with our own synths and samplers.
if we could use midi, then you could pretty much rewrite the whole song.
yeah... there was a whole debate on producing vs mixing. access to midi files would facilitate chaos. with that said, i think brandon was pretty relax on drum midis which i think is a pretty reasonable compromise.
a lot of people would just pretty much mix it, used plug-ins and outboard stuffs.
and then theres people like me who have itchy fingers, rearranging and restructuring the whole thing. giving me midi files is like the end of Ramadhan month for me.
I totally agree on the quality of the tracks, the girl can sing indeed. Only minor flaw would be the chorus backing vocals, the "ohs"... those are really hard to tune... As for the midi glad brandon decided not to include them in the file. If it is a mixing contest it should show how well you can work with what youre given. Great Job Brandon

I must agree with Brandon's approach - it keeps the playing field more level. Those of us without all those extra thing-a-ma-gigs/software/plug-ins/diaper bags/ and such, can have fun mixing and still 'sort of' be in the contest.
It would be cool to have a 'higher expertise level' contest (if you will) too for those with that 'extra stuff'. But this forum primarily caters/helps the HOME recording enthusiast. But, with that being said, I'll bet there are many 'professional' rec-heads in here as well! That's an at-a-boy toward this forum, it's contributors (and Brandon).
Well done!
