Would like to have heard a litle more guitar. Nice mix though with some good dynamics and clean sound.
Well, here we go!
Weeeeee
What a blast!

Yep, totally agreed. Would've made the change but got too worried about what time zone the forum is in...simply got too worried to risk screwing it up making the last tweek...lol
Thanks
Pretty clean. I was hearing a bit more wishy-washy 'verb than I think you'd hear on a pro mix, but it wasn't overwhelming. The snare had a little bit too much gated reverb for something recorded in this decade, though.
My main thought here is drum panning. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the hats are panned to the left (drummer perspective) and your toms go from right to left (audience perspective). Granted, I'm sure there's a drummer out there who uses this set-up, but in this kind of standard radio mix, it's a continual distraction from the star vocalist, especially when you remember that this is a country singer, and not a country band.
Just my $.02
Pretty good mix, but a bit too wet for me.
Nothing to add. It's a pretty good mix except for the reverb and drum thing.
Nice and open! I like this. The drums are loud but it is so open I don't mind because I am not fighting to hear anything. This is a contender IMO. The vocal could be 2 db louder. Nothing wrong with the reverb from my perspective. That is certainly up to taste.
In my opinion the guitar needs to be more present and I'll agree with the others it is a little wet for my tastes. Just back off the verb and it is solid.
VERY NICE !!!!!!!!!
can you list your gear for this track ?
particularly mics / board / recording apparatus.
not so concerned about choice of instruments.
Thanks, Post.
This was an entry in the Country mix contest. I did none of the recording, only mixed what was given. Brandon handled the recording, and you can find his comments on what went on at the beginning post for that contest.
:-)
Thank you Post, I appreciate it.
